Red Shakes - It's Not the Same Anymore Single Review

Red Shakes set to release debut single 'It's Not the Same Anymore' Friday 24th January.

Following on from the recent split of the Bradford based alt-rock band Railroads, frontman Sam DaSilva has decided to take things into his own hands with this latest project going by the name of Red Shakes

Red Shakes' debut single It's Not the Same Anymore is set to be released tomorrow (January 24th.) This latest track from DaSilva is quite a contrast to his previous work with Railroads. Coming from a garage/rock background, I wasn't sure what to expect and I'm pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised. The song captivates that of an upbeat, I would say almost pop-indie song. With lively guitar and fast paced drum beats, accompanied by tongue in cheek lyrics about the current state of our generation; all of this paired with a nostalgic feel that really compliments the track, making it such an easy and enjoyable listen.

It's Not The Same Anymore is fun, lively and upbeat, it's about reminiscing and shining a light on how modern day things like technology and social media are taking over - hinting that we were far better without it all. It is clear by the distinctive sound and capable song-writing throughout this track that DaSilva has been successful in making a sweet transition into producing an upbeat, indie song that really works; reflective of the seemingly effortless and impressive talent this lad holds at just 18.

More importantly, I love the message that this song portrays. It's Not The Same Anymore really reinforces the importance of taking a step back and living in the moment rather than being carried by this ever changing society, but Sam DaSilva does this in such a fun sounding way. This debut single is definitely a great start for Red Shakes and I can't wait to see what's next.
