Cardi B is the name she goes by. An apparent rapper, singer and songwriter who of course lives in California, America. This artist worked her way up the charts in late 2017 with her album Invasion of Privacy and her hit release Bodak Yellow. This track will really give you a feel for the type of person Cardi B herself seems to be. It includes her intense use of foul language and crude descriptions, this seems to be something todays music audience enjoys which absolutely baffles me.
Don't get me wrong, this is a genre of music which is clearly loved by a large majority of people hence the storming success of Miss Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar (doesn't have the same ring to it am I right?) However, to me this is not music, music is about expressing yourself which I am aware Cardi B does indeed achieve however, this is not in a pleasant manner and is defiantly not a relaxing listen.
Her loud obnoxious manner are themes which are apparent throughout her songs. Be Careful captivates lyrics like "gave you TLC you wanna creep and shit" and in fact, her opening line to her debut single Bodak Yellow writes "said little bitch you can't fuck with me," obnoxious is possibly a more light hearted description I could use...
This flawed personality trait s reflected in her most recent feud with her rival Nicki Minaj. The two were spotted exchanging words and also shoes, as Cardi used her beloved "red bottoms" (Louis Vuittons) to try and knock Nicki down a few more feet at New York fashion week, how classy of them both. This to me just backs up my point of the immaturity of the twenty five year old mother.
You would think in being a mother herself, Cardi B would want to portray a slightly more sophisticated and maybe half decent image of herself, making sure she is a positive role model to not only her fans but also her daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus aged just 2 months. Instead she seems to portray a mother suitable for tomorrow mornings Jeremy Kyle...
Now then, are you with me? Can we understand why I am not much of a fan of Cardi B herself. I do understand the independent, fuck you attitude Cardi posesses can be quite liberating for many young ladies who are going through 'heartbreak' and want some dutch courage. I do understand that. However, this is not talent, talent is not supposed to leave a bad taste in your mouth.
